Free Initial Consultation and Q & A


  • A. Yes, if you meet certain requirements. Social Security established a Ticket to Work program to support career development for individuals 18 through 64 years old who receive Social Security disability benefits (SSDI/SSI) and want to work.

    Note: Anyone working with Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) can engage in a "Benefit Analysis" to see how their income will affect their social security benefits.

  • A. Yes. We provide services to clients throughout Minnesota. If we don't have staff local to you, we can provide virtual services. Please contact us to see what we can offer you.

  • A. This depends on the job you are participating in. Many of our placements are for paid positions. In addition to salaried job placements, we also offer paid and non-paid internships, job tryouts, and work experiences. It all depends on your level of skill and the employer's programming.

  • A. Yes. You should treat your internship, job tryout, or work experience like any job. You are responsible for your lunches unless explicitly told differently by your employer.

  • A. Yes. You will work with your Employment Speciaalist or Job Coach to create a "MY PATH Action Plan" that is based on your input. If you decide that the original plan isn't working out, we'll simply revise the plan. Note that this may require coordination with, and approval from, your referral or payor source.

  • A. While MY PATH does not provide transportation, we will help you arrange for it. Whether this involves taking a bus or other solutions, your MY PATH Employment Specialist or Job Coach will work with your referral source to minimize or eliminate this barrier to services. We'll also ensure that you are comfortable with your transportation arrangement by preparing you for the transport service and reviewing contingency plans.

  • A. MY PATH is an approved community partner with Minnesota's Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) and ensure compliance with their requirements. We are also accredited by CARF, an independent, international organization focused on advancing the quality of human and health services. Through CARF accreditation, we have met internationally-recognized organizational and program standards.

  • A. If you have a case manager, they will discuss options for future steps with you. If you choose to work with MY PATH, you'll follow the MY PATH Process. Simply fill out a Contact Us request and we'll get in touch with you to schedule your FREE, Initial Consultation and Q. & A. During this meeting, we'll answer your questions and provide you with a clear understanding about taking the next steps on your future path.

  • A. Most of our clients have their services paid for by VRS or a CDCS Waiver at little or no cost. Check out our Payment Options page. During your FREE, Initial Consultation and Q. & A., we'll explain these options further and help you coordinate with a payor source.

  • A. If you are a current client of MY PATH, you will be assigned an Employment Specialist or Job Coach. They will be your point of contact during services. If you are not yet a client, please fill out a Contact Us form and we will be in touch to answer your questions.

  • A. No Many of our clients not working with VRS are able to arrange service payment through CDCS Waivers. Clients are also able to play for services "out-of-pocket."
